NYC Marathon ~ Man Goes Down Video and Tips for Post Marathon

HEALTH/FITNESS/WELL-BEING:

Getting some feedback on our MAN GOES DOWN VIDEO ~ THE MAN WAS NOT ONE OF OUR COACHING CLIENTS!! .. . the point is ... when you are a coach or trainer at a MARATHON- you never know when someone will need your help even if that includes a random stranger who needs a leg rubdown or deep tissue massage!!! ~ THE ISSUE WITH THE RUNNER IS WHY WE OFFER TRANSFORMATIONAL COACHING IN THIS AREA!!!!

But, With all that being said.... here are 10 post race pointers for today to keep you healthy and well!!!

1. HYDRATE!

2. Stretch your muscles today - and if you are able to - go get a message to undo some of the kinks and for pain relief

3. Eat Healthy today!!! Eat a healthy and balanced diet today!

4. Get plenty of Rest as your body needs to recalibrate from all the energy spent on the marathon as well as you arriving for it, and yor departure!

5. Congratulate others and yourself for doing an AWESOME JOB!!!!

6. Let others help you with things today if you are having difficulty with soreness

7. Increase your electrolytes!

8. take a nice hot shower or soak in a nice hot tub - this will help relax those tense muscles... (you can add epsom salt to your bath but you must further increase your hydration if you do this-or it can lead to further dehydration).

9. if you have heat rash, take a cool or cold shower or bath to help decrease it, OR Put 1 or 2 cups of oatmeal in a lukewarm bath and soak for 20 minutes. Make sure the water isn’t hot, so you don’t further irritate your skin. OR You can also make a paste with oatmeal and water and apply it to your skin. Mix 1 part oatmeal to 1 part water, and mix until it forms a paste., OR Mix 2 parts sandalwood powder with 1 part water to make a pastelike substance. Before applying it to your rash, test it on a small patch of unbroken skin. If you don’t react after an hour, you should apply it to the rash without any further issues. OR Add 3 to 5 tablespoons of baking soda to a lukewarm bath and soak for about 20 minutes.

10. GIVE YOURSELF EXTRA LOVE TODAY! YOU ROCKED IT! YOU ROCKSTAR!!!

Bonus Point: If you were injured during the marathon... know that accidents happen! There is always another run you can do!!!
