Jamal Corrie:

Having moved to New York only last year, Jamal Corrie has found himself performing at some of the top prestigious events, venues and platforms worldwide. Performing on NBC’s The Voice and some of Asia’s top venues, such as the famous and incredibly chic SEVVA in Hong Kong, Oak Room and Maduro in Tokyo. He has also performed in the United States, Australia, England, Scotland, Germany, Denmark and Sweden. Jamal has certainly entertained millions worldwide. He has envisioned himself becoming a composer of film scores as well. But underneath a persona that certainly knows how to draw attention, there is an artist that has been silently waiting to reveal its true capacity. Whether it’s his unpredictable and astonishing freestyles that separate him from artists of any genre, or a cover that is always takes an original approach, Jamal is on a path of true authentic and artistic expression. He is a singer, songwriter, musician, actor, and composer.

Jamal Corrie is a singer, musician, actor, and film composer born in Chicago, Illinois. Jamal started playing music at age 6 and composing music at age 12. He is a contestant on The Voice season 18, where he earned his popularity. He received his first piano in 2005 and has been making music ever since. Jamal Corrie is an American singer and musician who gained fame for his voice and cover songs, and hails to New York from San Francisco, California (where he lived with his family post Chicago). He released his first CD, 'Pedals & Keys' in September of 2006, which contained His first compositions. Afterward, in November of 2007, Corrie completed his second CD, 'Take My Hand.' He said the inspiration for the title track struck from a dream his grandmother had. Jamal began composing music very early as a child. He had written two instrumental albums by 14. He has since taught himself eight instruments like guitar and piano. In spite of the fact that Jamal is an experienced musician, The Voice was his first time performing on a real stage; he is now a full-time performer. According to Jamal, Music is a ladder to his soul, and a magnifying glass to the emotions. He sings an array of genres including but not limited to: easy listening, alternative spiritual, opera, pop, classical, romantic and hip hop, rock and R&B. When he was asked to describe his own sound in 2018, he stated: “My sound is very post-contemporary and film-score-esque. I like to mix guitar, piano, keyboard and computer effects with my voice.” He said he also performs covers, from Elvis to the Weeknd.

In June 2012 he was an actor and film composer: Heart of Hate by Maurice Anthony and in July 2013 He was an actor and film composer: RE-Awakening by Maurice Anthony ~ Los Angeles. Between 2017 and 2018, he released five singles available on streaming and download sites — “Is this Really Love,” “For My Daughter,” “You Are More,” “Lost Boy” and “Hazel Eyes.” IN august 2019 he was a contestant on The Voice. Jamal released his debut EP, “28 Days in Hong Kong,” in September 2019. He explains the EP’s title this way: “This EP is a small collection of songs I wrote over the past 5 years, and produced with a team in Hong Kong, all of which took about 28 days. It is still one of the most unique and special experiences I have ever been so privileged to have in my life, and I thank everyone involved to help make this humble project a reality.” He also has a Christmas CD and an album of covers called “Timeless” that he sells as shows / performances. in 2020 he was on The Voice Battles. He has continued to perform since and is currently working on new pieces.
